An aerial rendering of the Hanwha integrated exhibition booth at the World Defense Show 2026 (WDS 2026), held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 8 to 12. Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, and Hanwha Ocean will jointly operate a 677㎡ integrated booth (including a 50㎡ outdoor area), the group’s largest presence at WDS to date. The biennial show runs February 8–12 in Riyadh and hosts more than 770 exhibitors from 76 countries.
At the center of Hanwha’s showcase is the first global reveal of the Loitering Precision-Guided Weapon (L-PGW)—an AI-enabled system designed to autonomously reconnoiter, identify, and engage targets. According to the company, the concept integrates AI target recognition, satellite data links, and a novel attack sequence in which a self-destructing drone separates and launches for the terminal strike—signaling a new operational paradigm for future battlefields.
Hanwha Systems is also presenting an AI-based vision spanning ISR, space, and maritime domains. Highlights include a Multi-Mission Radar (MMR) optimized to counter diversified low-altitude threats such as drones, alongside AI-enabled combat management systems, an AESA-based four-face Multi-Function Radar (MFR), unmanned systems, and a stealth-informed “Smart Battleship” concept.
Beyond platforms, Hanwha is emphasizing localization—framing its offer as an “industrialization package” aligned with Saudi priorities. On land, a Saudi-configured K9A1 self-propelled howitzer fitted with a 1,000-hp diesel engine is displayed in full scale, alongside the Tigon wheeled armored vehicle optimized for desert operations.
At sea, Hanwha Ocean showcases an end-to-end Naval Solutions portfolio—from submarines to surface combatants and unmanned surface vessels. Exhibits include the Jangbogo-III Batch-II 3,000-ton-class submarine and a customizable submarine base concept that bundles design, construction, equipment, training, maintenance, and operations into a single turnkey solution. The model aims to reduce lifecycle risk for operators while building local industrial capacity.
A Hanwha official said the group will “enter global markets as one team with the Korean government and grow together with our partners,” adding that the company intends to make tangible contributions to Saudi defense readiness and industrial self-reliance. The approach, Hanwha noted, goes beyond product sales to encompass infrastructure, sustainment, and operations—positioning the partnership as a long-term enabler of Vision 2030.
